Best Moments : The Voice Nigeria Season 2 (Episode 4- Blind Auditions)

Review the #Highlight: The #Voice #Nigeria Season 2 (Episode 4- Blind Auditions)

Here is the highlight of the best moments of the 4th episode of the second season of “The Voice Nigeria”.

The first talent of the night was #Sandra Osamor, a 25-year-old Covenant University Alumnus classical singer with a unique song choice. She said she discovered music when she was young and took notice of her unique song choice in secondary school. She sees herself as an isolated classical singer in the world of R&B and pop singers. Feeling excited and nervous simultaneously, she delivered a beautiful and “goose bumps giving” rendition of “The National Anthem”. Undoubtedly, she got four chair turn from the coaches. “Smart move singing the national anthem”, commented Waje. She chose Timi as her coach and they left the stage proudly Nigerians. The Voice Nigeria shared her audition on YouTube, where it has received over 80,000 views. “This Sandra girl should sing at the opening of every national event”, commented one YouTube user.

#Kessy Mbonu, also called Kessydris is 25 years old. She not only sings but leads her own band. She is a recording artist and runs a successful catering outfit with her mother to help fund her music. According to her, being selected for the battles isn’t a do or die affair, she would enjoy every bit of her audition. She sang “Jangilova” by Seyi Shay, and just at the last minute, Patoranking turned. She quickly directed the song to him singing, “The love I get for you o!” She got the second turn from Yemi afterward. While choosing her coach, Kessy said, “This song is a love song and I’m already in love with Patoranking”. She not only got a spot on Patoranking’s team but a hug as well. “She enjoyed herself with the song”, was her coach’s comment to her.
The next talent that graced the best moments of the night was #Blessing Isaac, a 25-year-old singer, and performer who gets a recommendation from other bands because of her outstanding performance. She grew up listening to her parents sing and her parents are her biggest inspiration when it comes to music. She sang a soulful rendition of Alicia Keys’s “Woman’s Worth” which landed her on Patoranking’s team by default. Patoranking opined, “You are in Winneranking”.
Up next was a 30-year-old teacher from a Christian family. She seeks to pursue her passion for singing and to make a career out of it. In her younger years, she had to struggle to get her father’s consent to delve into music, an approval she has since gotten and is really trying not to disappoint her father. Hoping her uniqueness distinguishes her from other talented contestants, #Makepeace Shapera passionately sang “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga, which ended in a- 3- chair turns from Timi, Waje, and Patoranking. She chose to be in Waje’s team after Waje commented, “The minute I heard your voice, I spotted a beautiful range, confidence, and attitude”.
We also had another Music and French Teacher from a musical family of four. Her mother is very supportive of her musical career, and her brother is one of her music teachers. Some of her favorite Nigerian musicians include Waje, Tiwa Savage, and Omawunmi. After a beautiful rendition of “Irreplaceable” by Beyonce. #Glory Amanyi got only one char-turn from Waje.
After a soulful rendition of “Pillowtalk” by Zaga. 22- year-old, #Olawale Olusi, got to choose her crush Yemi to be her coach. Timi commented, “This boy is good o!”. Olawale is a Graphic Designer and had his first singing experience as a young boy when his neighbour gathered him and his sisters outside their yard and gave them singing lessons. They were called The Marverlous Three.  Some of his biggest musical influences include Simi, Adekunle Gold, and WizKid.
“If I don’t get a turn tonight, it is going to break me so much. I will cry”, said #Nwando Okoli. She saved her tears for she got a-chair-turn from Timi after she sang, “Don’t take it personal” by Monica. The 27-year-old started singing at an early age. She got an award for singing the school anthem at the age of 3 years. She says her husband is her biggest fan and supports her music 100 percent.
The episode’s best moments ended with #Victor Thompson, a young man who was encouraged to take up singing by his primary school teacher. He says his family is his support system. The 28-year-old student delivered an amazing rendition of Taylor Swift’s “I knew you were in trouble”, which translated to one-chair-turn from Timi. The following were Timi and Waje’s Comments respectively, “I don’t care, this one is good”, “You were amazing from start to finish”.
